Haute Couture spring/summer 2010 #2

The Haute Couture shows are always my favourite! The time and effort that goes into creating every single piece is mind blowing. The quality of fabrics used are the best in the world and the prices reflect this. Christian Dior always has simply exquisite ball gowns. No stone is left unturned when it comes to intricate detailing, drapes of fabrics and colourways. I'm a huge fan of the navy gown. Navy is such a great colour for bridesmaids as you'll find it will suit most girls. It's also a great alternative to black. Joseph Thimister opted for metalic tones as did Jean Paul Gaultier. His gowns had interesting embellishments and used richly textured fabrics. His designs would translate well for bridal gowns. Armani Prive is always ultra feminine, pretty and oozes sophistication. I loved the structure of the gowns and adored the ruffles and sleeves on the sleeker numbers. Always strong on embellishments like beading, the gowns couldn't have sparkled any more if they tried!
