The Race that Stops a Nation
The biggest race in Australia and one of the most coveted horse races in the world, The Melbourne Cup, is what jockey's, trainers and race horse owners alike dream about winning. For many, like us here in the Style Guide office, it's not just about the nags. The Spring Racing Carnival's fashions on the field get better every year and not only do they give you great ideas for general dressing but the hats on show are truly inspiring. Hats and fascinators are becoming hugely popular amongst brides and with such exciting young milliners popping up on the scene there is really no excuse for daggy headwear.
One of our favourite milliners, who has worked with me to create some gorgeous headpieces for our issue 7 fashion shoot, has been blessed with the opportunity to hat out Candace Bushnell for the Cup. Grace Cabot of MiiRA was chosen to help out the Sex and the City writer and even sat down for a glass of champagne with her during fitting. I don't think you could get a better endorsment than Miss SATC herself!!!
